[Fireside] Starting up a new list

Dear friends,

For some years the frequency of firesides in my vicinity has dropped to
zero.  From what I have heard from my contacts this is a general condition,
not an exception to the norm.

Do we need firesides?  There are a number of passages included in Gleanings
from the Writings of Baha'u'llah which call upon every follower of
Baha'u'llah to teach His Faith.  And lots of similar statements made by
'Abdu'l-Baha and Shoghi Effendi...so, whether we call individual teaching
firesides or something else, it remains a personal obligation...and a
privilege and blessing.

This list exists to provide opportunities for individual Baha'is to give
firesides, and for individuals who want to learn about the Baha'i Faith.
We will schedule firesides well in advance, starting slowly, and invite all
list members and their contacts to spread the news to contacts who are not
Baha'is.

Baha'is will be permitted to observe but not participate in the
presentation including the Q&A that will naturally follow every fireside.

Presenters will have the option of having the host record and publish their
presentation on youtube.  Presenters and learners will be able to.choose,
by consensus or majority, whether or not to livestream and publish the Q&A.

Who.would like to.sign up to give the first fireside?
